Sarah O'Reilly

Sarah O'Reilly is the owner and founder of PA on the Way, offering virtual PA, secretarial and office management, along with a wide range of other services, since 2005. Prior to this, she had over ten years Executive Assistant, PA and Administration experience in large corporations, in both Australia and the United Kingdom.

A first homeowner by the age of 21, Sarah has always achieved anything she puts her mind to. Her professional achievements include successfully running a client's busy company, ‘beyond their expectations', for four months while that client was overseas - with only a week's lead in.

Using the initiative and professionalism that she displays in her business, Sarah co-founded Networking 4 Charities as a way to combine something she does regularly - networking - with something she feels strongly about - supporting underfunded.

Julie Hulsman

Julie Hulsman is the founder of creative hitch, a business specialising in graphic design and unique invitations. She graduated from KvB Institute of Technology in 1998 with a BA in visual communication (majoring in fashion and interior design).

After launching her career and working as a design and development assistant for two and a half years, Julie soon discovered a passion for print, and spent several years honing her graphic design skills through a series of courses and on-the-job training. Julie worked as the principal designer for three years for 2mdc collective before launching creative hitch in 2005.

Initially a specialist service creating unique handmade invitations, creative hitch has expanded its service over the years into graphic design in all forms. Her clients include the University of NSW, TAFE NSW and The University of Sydney (recommended supplier).

Julie has a passion for helping people and is president of the Eastern Suburbs Networking group (ESN).

John Shearer

John Shearer is a resident of Putney in Ryde City Council area. He has worked in both federal and local government for over 40 years, and served as Alderman/Councillor on Ryde Council for four terms.

John is a former member of a vast number of community organisations in the Ryde district, including: the Blue Light Disco committee, North Ryde Primary school council and P&C, the Granny Smith committee, Ryde Sports Foundation, Ryde Eisteddfod, Argyle Theatre Committee, RAPA theatrical committee and many more.

John currently performs as MC at Ryde’s Granny Smith Festival parade and welcome ceremony; MC and performer at the Eastwood Christmas Carols; and is a judge of various youth talent shows within Ryde. He is also an actor/director with the Peninsula Theatre Company at Narrabeen.

From 2005 to 2008, John created and headed a major charity, Team NSW, which provided work experience for the long-term unemployed within regional and city areas of NSW and Victoria.

Matthew Turner

Matthew Turner joined the Commonwealth Bank in 2007 to open and manage the Bank’s precincts at Sydney Olympic Park and Parramatta. Matthew’s role now sits across the new workspaces as well the Corporate Portfolio at Parramatta.

In a short time, he has built workplaces that are now used as a benchmark and are nationally recognised for their design and innovation. Upon completion of works at Sydney Olympic Park the Commonwealth Bank will host 4000 employees on a daily basis.

Matthew has over ten years experience in managing properties, facilities, client services and relocations for several major corporations. His career has been focused on providing innovative, productive, environmentally sensitive and engaging workplaces.

Matthew holds an executive position on the Sydney Olympic Park Business Association Board and works closely with several community groups. He has been involved with the establishment of several and foundations.

Richard Hill

Richard Hill began his career as an actor appearing on stage, tv, film and radio. This has proved to be an excellent foundation for a career in public speaking and as a practicing psychotherapist.

He is now the resident counsellor/psychotherapist at the Davis Health Centre in Gordon and a well known speaker on the workings of the human mind and behaviour. He is a speaker to the business community and also to the mental health community in Australia and internationally through his MindScience Series.

His first book, “Choose Hope”, was published by HarperCollins in 2000 and the follow-up book, “How the ‘real world’ Is Driving Us Crazy!” was published in 2006. Richard is actively involved in mind and human behaviour research as a member of the NeuroLeadership Institute, The Global Association for Interpersonal Neurobiology Studies and the Creative Skills Training Council.

THE COMMITEE

Frances de Horne

Frances is the Practice Manager for the Chartered Accounting Firm Stanley & Williamson. Originally from the coal mining town of Lithgow, Frances moved to Sydney in the mid 90's and has almost 20 years experience working in the administration department of Chartered Firms, of which over 10 years of that as Practice Manager.

Frances is married to Peter, and together they have a young daughter Charlotte. It was through Peter's attendance at a Networking 4 event that Frances became aware of the organization, and became an active member of the committee shortly afterwards.

Outside of work and family, Frances enjoys horse riding however, doesn't quite get to see her horses as often as she should, and before children, had an extensive shoe collection.

Frances brings her wealth of knowledge in administration, accounting and business management to the organisation.

Linnet Good

Linnet Good is a copywriter, editor and desktop publisher. She has run several successful businesses in the worlds of costume and fashion. In 2008, after a career change and a move from Melbourne to Sydney, she founded her current business, Goodscribble.

Linnet helps to tell the story of an organisation in a way that connects with its target audience, delivering the essence of the desired message with energy and clarity. She has written and edited a wide range of corporate documents, from technical and staff training manuals to marketing copy, media kits and web content.

Australian publications that have published her articles include The Age newspaper, The Green Pages (business edition), and ReNew and Sanctuary magazines.

Linnet believes in giving back to the community she lives in. She has volunteered for organisations as diverse as the International Women’s Development Agency (IWDA), the Alternative Technology Association, Melbourne’s Flinders Quarter Association, Orphan Angels, Sydney City Farm and Networking 4 Charities.

Roseanna Gallo

Roseanna Gallo of RG Music is an accredited  member of the Australian Bridal Service, offering her professional services as a wedding singer for ceremonies as well as her services for performing at wedding Receptions. Roseanna has performed at many function centres including Dockside Reception lounge, Mira Mare Gardens, Mediterranean House and various other corporate function centres. Roseanna  also had performed at various Clubs, recently at the Marconi Club with well known singer Sharon Calabro as well as the Ryde Eastwood Leagues Club where she launched her CD “on the right track” to a sellout concert of  over 300 attendees. She will be performing at the Putney Bowling Club on June 27th for an “Italy down under” concert which has also sold out after two weeks the tickets went on sale.

Roseanna wears many community hats in Ryde, she is the music director of one of the largest Carols by Candlelight event in the metropolitan area, and just recently been installed as President of the Macquarie Park Rotary Club.

Torunn Momtazi

A Sydney based portrait and feature story photographer, Torunn Momtazi provides images to corporate clients, the media and the arts. Her practice spans more than a decade, and covers a wide range of assignments in publicity, corporate identity and press photography. A skilled studio photographer with a love for the environment, she seeks to combine visual eloquence with the significance of the here and now.

Torunn arrived in Sydney from Oslo, Norway in 2003, when she had the great opportunity to work on exhibitions and events at the Australian Centre for Photography. She relaunched her own photography business in 2008. She is a member of the Association for Australian Commercial and Media Photographers.

Dennis Hamill

Denis Hamill is a Principal at Woinarski & Co Chartered Accountants, which was established in 1931. He joined the Firm in 1963. Since then, he has led a very busy life with work, family and sport. He was admitted as partner at Woinarski’s in 1978.

Denis has had an ongoing involvement with his community. He is honoured to have been awarded Life Memberships of the Balmain Amateur Swimming & Water Polo Club, the NSW Water Polo Association, the Boronia Park P&C Association and the Malvina High School Parents and Citizens Association.

Denis is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, a Justice of the Peace and an authorised representative of Count Financial Limited.

Recently, Denis completed a 65K Walk to help raise funds for Cystic Fibrosis Association.

Networking 4 Charities is becoming a more important part of his life and he looks forward to helping this wonderful organisation succeed.

Trevor Lipman

Dr. Trevor Lipman is a consultant specialising in Corporate Governance and associated areas. He works with public and private companies and not-for-profit organisations, and is on the board of Cystic Fibrosis New South Wales. His projects include Board and Director Performance Reviews, Corporate Governance Reviews, and Director Education and Mentoring. Trevor also consults in debt arranging, re-arranging and structuring, equity structuring and general strategic and management advice.

Prior to consulting in Corporate Governance, Trevor worked in Banking and Finance for more than 20 years, firstly with BT Funds Management then with BNP Paribas, spending his last five years there as Director, Corporate & Investment Banking. He has worked on a range of financing structures with companies in a variety of industries.

Trevor is a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia, an Associate of the Institute of Company Directors and a Member of the Australian Institute of Management. His qualifications include a Bachelor of Business majoring in Accounting, a Master of Business Administration majoring in Strategic Management and a Doctor of Business Administration, with his theses titled ‘The Role of the Independent Non-Executive Director in Australia’.
